The cold air of leaf-bare was even worse in the Weeping Forest and no sun could be seen though the heavy snowclouds. The forest was pretty much empty, all excpet a lone she-cat named Lacee. Her beautiful icy blue eyes looked around, trying to find someting to eat and somewhere to warm up at. She sat down under a tree and sighed; ever since the breaking of the Clans, her life had become so different to the point where she wasn't sure that there was much point in living. She would never kill herself, but all she did now a days was basically nothing with no one. She hadn't seen any cats since her parents left her, and all her near and dear friends that were once so close to her in OceanClan were gone doing only StarClan knows what. But there is no StarClan? Lacee questioned her own thoughts bitterly. This is what her life had come to, and she was deeply ashamed. [/blockquote]

A pair of blue eyes, framed by cloud-gray fur, watched the solitary she-cat as she sat beneath one of the leafless trees of the forest. Tempest could have laughed at this femme's stupidity. Didn't anyone know how dangerous it was, to sit and contemplate while death stalked the forest? Apparently not. The grey she-cat emerged from her place within a salal bush, dipping her head courteously to Lacee. "Good morrow to thee," came her antiquated greeting. "Art thou lost, or be there some reason why thou rests within my territories, kit?"

Lacee turned her small head to face the stranger who spoke to her with such nerve. Although Lacee was indeed small and looked like no moee than an apprentice, she was an adult. " I think I'll keep my business to myself." She said coldly, her fur bristled. She didn't know anything about this she-cat since the clan scents were no longer present. She knew that she wasn't from oceanClan, or maybe she was and she just never really knew. Lacee tried to recall seeing the she-cat, but her mind was blank. [/blockquote]

Tempest frowned at the lack of ettiquete on the femme's part. Such impudence couldn't be tolerated without a reprimand, at the very least. But first, she must use some diplomacy, if she wanted to attract followers, not hunters. "Well then," Tempest said, taking the liberty to sit across from Lacee. "If thou wouldst rather not tell me of thine business in these parts, wouldst thou tell me the title that thou prefers to go by? 'Tis better to speak with an aquaintance than with a stranger, or so I was taught as a kitten." Tempest's ice blue eyes smoldered with repressed anger at this small cat's cold response from before, but patience was needed here.

" Lacee The she-cat mewed coldly, as she watched the older cat with eyes narrowed. " Don't speak down to me like I am no better than a mischevious kit." She snarled, her bur bristling more and more by the second. " I may be young, but I'm not ignorant." She got up to her paws and walked around; her stare remained on the she-cat. " I know as much as you do if not more."

Singedpride watched the scene before her with peicing yellow eyes narrowed to slits. Stalking out of the bushes in which she had hidden from the two females, Singedpride approached. Hello ladies. She said pleasently. Sitting down next to the grey she-cat Singedpride comenced licking a paw, totally at ease with the situation.

Tempest nearly hissed at the newcomer, but instead, she dipped her head with utmost politeness to her. "Good morrow to thee as well, friend," She purred, blue eyes hiding the malevolence within. "Thou may call me Tempest, for such is my title, lowly creature though I am. What mightest I call thee, sister?"

I go by Singedpride, Tempest, although you may call me Singed for short if you like. And what is your name? She asked of the other femme sitting across from her. It is a nice day, don't you think? She said noncholontly (sp?), opening her mouth in a satisfying yawn. Winter's apon us then.

" Lacee. My name is Lacee." She mewed once again. She looked from one cat to another; these cats weren't from OceanClan, or she thought they weren't, but either way, that didn't matter. " You act as though we are all friends, the both of you." She sneered. " When I was a kit, loyalty meant something, and it still does." She looked from Singed to Tempest. " I'm not going to act as though we are best friends, or even close to friends, because I know better than that. Silly, I thought I was considered a kit, but clearly I know more than the lot of you do."

The older she-cat was infuriating! Singedpride unsheathed her claws, digging them into the soft forest floor. Her tail started to twitch. No, I mustn't let this get to me. Deep breaths. Breathing deeply she calmed slightly and her tail ceased to twitch. That is your own oppinion then Lacee. I was never much of a clan cat to begin with. While my brother got all cozy in his precious clan, I was out here, actually living. I have no loyalties to anyother cat but myself so far. Singedpride hissed, irritated that she was being chidded like a newborn kit.

Lacee let a cruel smirk go across her small face. This she-cat, Singedpride or whatever her name was, was actually threatened by her. This had never really happened to her before, and she took this opportunity to show the she-cat who was stronger. " You say this nonsense, yet you carry around the name of a clan cat. Little odd don't you think?" She taunted the she-cat mockilgly. " When the clans broke up, I was no longer Laceheart, so i changed it. I moved on, stopped dwelling in the past." She felt wise, as if for once she was actually getting through to someone, whether they wanted to listen to her or not. " You say your brother was a clan cat? Well, good for him, because while he was living his life, you," She looked at Singedpride with a look of disgust, " were out here, living a lonely and pathetic life..." She arose to her paws as soon as she saw the loner unsheathe her claws threateningly. " I guess not much has changed for you then, huh?" She hissed cruelly, and unsheathed her claws, waiting to see what Singedpride would do after such a remark.

ooc//sweet isn't she? lol IC: Singedpride looked carefully at Lacee. I never really thought to change it anyway, you know? I was never really that concerned with my name, so why would I care if it's a clan name or not? I was given it, so I didn't feel the urge to change it. A mocking smile slid quietly over her face, then was gone. It is no good to give into this Singed. She thought, though she would have more than happily sank her claws into Lacee right there. Instead she got up from her sitting position and came eye to eye with the she-cat. Is it really I who is weaker here Lacee? I'm not so sure I agree with you. She reasoned as calmly as she coud at that moment. Would you really want to risk finding out?
