Mintleaf padded into the WillowClan camp, her tail drooping. Finally, she was... home. She glanced in the direction of the MireClan camp. Even as a loner, she had lived there. So why had StarClan chosen her to lead WillowClan? There were plenty of better cats for the job. Her deputy, Fadingsteps, would make an excellent leader. She sighed and sat down in the middle of the camp, looking around her. This was her home now. She stared glumly at her den, and wished she was back in the MireClan warriors' den. There it was warm, and smelled like home, and she would be with all her fellow MarshClan warriors... She shook her head sharply. This was her home, and MarshClan didn't exist. Now only MireClan lived there. She belonged in WillowClan.
It dawned on her that she should call a meeting. But what did she have to say? All the Clans had been peaceful enough, WillowClan included. So any announcements would just be about WillowClan. She paused to think. Were any of the apprentices ready to become warriors? Did they all have mentors? She realized with a bit of surprise that she didn't even know how many apprentices her Clan had. The gray she-cat glanced around for her deputy. Fadingsteps would know.
-----
Violetlight padded heavily into the camp, fuming and stomping slightly as she walked. She had still had so much to say to Spectrumfire when Plaguestar had interrupted them. The silver tabby frowned and stared down at her paws. She sat down near the warriors' den, her tail twitching irritably.
-----
Silverpaw followed her fuming mother into the camp. She would have spoken to her, but she could tell that she was in an irritable mood. The only WillowClan apprentice looked at their leader expectantly, but she was just sitting there. Wasn't she supposed to do something now? Maybe not. Silverpaw sat and wrapped her tail tightly around her paws, feeling a bit sorry for herself. Being the only apprentice sucked. She didn't have any friends her age because there weren't any cats her age in WillowClan. She allowed herself a small sigh, trying to hide her self-pity.

Fadingsteps walked into the clearing, breathing in the scent of WillowClan which was growing more familiar with each passing day. Looking around, he noticed that Violetlight and Silverpaw were already in the camp. He looked towards the leader's den, noticing Mintleaf sitting almost forelornly just outside.
He made his way over to her, sitting next to her. Are you alright my leader? when he got no response, he tried again. Mintleaf? You ok? He quieted his voice, a worried tone creeping in. He couldn't help it. Sometimes he worried about Mintleaf. She seemed so weak, seeming to lose more energy every day. Do you need anything? A mouse maybe? He still kept his voice low, trying to keep his leader's weakened state from the rest of the clan. They didn't need to know right now of their leader's real state. There was too much for them to deal with without that.
-------------
Singedpride smirked as her nephew rushed off to tend to their leader. ha. suckup. Oh well. Can't change one's nature I suppose. She thought, a small grin creeping across her face. Still smirking, she sauntered off towards the warrior's den, pushing past the one apprentice of Willowclan. Sliverpaw I thought it was? She thought gruffly. She should've gotten out of the way. I'm cranky when I'm tired. She gathered a nest of moss together, a laid down, her tail covering the tip of her nose.

"What?" Mintleaf blinked in surprise. "Oh, umm... No, I'm not hungry," she said softly. "What apprentices do we have? It seems to have slipped my mind." She looked out at the camp and saw only one cat who seemed to be apprentice-aged. But that couldn't be right. Surely they had more than one. Maybe one of the older apprentices was ready to become a warrior. "Is there only one? Silverpaw?" she asked, frowning.
-----
Silverpaw grumbled under her breath in irritation. Warriors. They always thought they were so much better than apprentices. The silver apprentice shrugged and padded over to her den. Yes, it was all hers. She had to admit, it was a bit nice. She wouldn't have to worry about snoring denmates or being woken up in the morning because of early risers. But as the apprentice entered the den, a wave of loneliness washed over her. It was too big for one cat. Oh well. She scraped together a nest of moss, circled a few times, then settled down, but she couldn't seem to get to sleep.

Yes, for now Silverpaw is our only apprentice. Fadingsteps gave a small nod. So if you're alright, I guess I'll get some sleep then. You should too. Good night Mintleaf. He stepped back, and turned, padding off to the warrior's den. He noticed his aunt, Singedpride was curled up in a nest in the back, already asleep. He sighed, remembering his father as he looked at her. She was the only relation left to him now from his family. He pushed down a sadness that threatened to overtake him, instead gathering a nest of his own and pushed it towards his prickly aunt. Circling twice, he laid down, closing his eyes in sleep.

[[super-special-awesome Icefire attack!...kinda.]]
one look could kill
Icefire hid a smirk as he watched his 'Clanmates'. There was his idiot mother, Violetlight, looking sadder than usual, in the Warriors' Den; the medicine cat supposed she hadn't seen enough of Spectrumfire tonight. And there, looking quite grumpy, was his sister, Silverpaw. Inwardly, the young tom laughed. He was pleased, very pleased indeed, that he held a position in WillowClan that she couldn't dream of; it was better still that he knew hardly anything of healing, and that Mintleaf--stupid leader that she was-- listened to him so easily. It would be her own fault, he reasoned, when he controlled WillowClan someday. Mind, Icefire had the intelligence not to let his ambitions--or his cruelty-- show. So, rather than stand at the entrance and smirk all day, he instead padded down to where Mintleaf sat, alone now that Fadingsteps had left her to get some sleep. Perfect. "Mintleaf," he said in his eerily high-pitched voice. Oh, how he hated his voice! It sounded weak, feminate even, but he couldn't get rid of it, as he couldn't rid himself of his desperately small size. "Do you need anything? Comfort? Counsel? Maybe some herbs from my store?" The orange-tipped tom said, smoothly despite the wretched voice he'd been cursed with.
You're poison running through my veins[/b]

Mintleaf blinked as her deputy walked away. Silverpaw needed a mentor... Oh well, it could wait until tomorrow. She didn't even glance at her medicine cat as he approached, and instead watched as various cats made their way to their dens. "No, I'm fine," she said absently, a bit of annoyance creeping into her voice. First Fadingsteps, and now Icefire! You'd think she was on her deathbed or something. She looked at the tom with a hint of I'm not a kit! in her eyes, like she'd always used to when she was an apprentice. Then her gaze softened, or weakened, depending on how you looked at it, and she turned towards her den. "Good night, Icefire," she said, then padded into her den.
It didn't feel anything like home. She pictured the MarshClan camp, with all the old MarshClan warriors. Hauntedstar. Her eyes narrowed and her fur bristled, then lay flat. That part of her life was over. She had to move on. The gray leader sighed and flopped down into the moss nest, falling asleep quickly.
