Icefire grinned devilishly, taking delight in his sister's horror. "I know. Neat, huh?" He picked up the fish and dropped it closer to Silverlight's feet. "Go on. It's not gonna kill you, Silv. Although..." His eyes grew hard and flinty. "I might just if you offend me."

Silverlight gave a little squeak as the fish was thrown at her paws. She sniffed it carefully, then looked up at her brother, her blue eyes glittering with suspicion. He wouldn't really kill me, she thought, though wasn't sure she was completely sure. After all, she hadn't known about the fish thing. Did it also work on cats? He had killed the fish, hadn't he. But it had been out of water, so maybe he'd just controlled it and made it jump out of the water. But it had seemed to be in pain before leaving the water. "What did you do?" she asked uncertainly.

maybe i'm the one maybe i'm the one who is a schizophrenic psycho; yeah maybe i'm the one maybe i'm the one who is a paranoid psycho Whoa. What the hell did he just do?
Kitsune opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
It was very unusual... very unusual indeed. What the heck? She measured her brother's expression, and the words that fell from his troubled maw... Although.. I just might if you offend me. At this, she bristled uneasily, though she scoffed verbally, "Yeah, right, fluffy bluffer. You couldn't kill anything bigger than that fish, and I don't even know how you did that, you freak." Uneasily, she returned her glinting emerald stare to the supernaturally slain prey.
Turning her eyes quickly to her sister, she also looked at Silverlight with a kind of apprehension. It seemed she knew everyone so well. Who knew? Her pretty sister just might start an earthquake or make vultures out of sand. Who could tell?
Do I even know myself? She wondered, her eyes falling back to the unfortunate fish, wondering if it was somehow an omen.
If it is, what does it symbolize?

Icefire bristled at Kitsune's scorn. "How do you know, Kitsune? Maybe I'll do it tonight, when you'n'Silverlight are sleeping with Mom." He hissed coolly, swiping his tongue around his jaws in an irritated fashion.
The orange-pointed tom narrowed his violet eyes as he eyed his sisters. "Why don't you try it, Kitsune? Unless, of course, you're too scared to do anything like that?" His tailtip flicked from side to side, taunting either of his siblings to do what he'd done.

Silverlight exchanged a glance with her sister. Kitsune seemed just as shocked as Silverlight felt. Good; at least now she knew it wasn't just her. The silver tabby bristled at Icefire's challenge. "She doesn't have to try anything," she snapped. "Being able to kill isn't anything to be proud of." The faintest trace of fear began to prickle along Silverlight's spine. What if Kitsune could do the fish thing? And if her two siblings could do it, maybe she also had that ability. For the rest of her life, she would be some sort of a monster, both to herself and the rest of the world. At least, to anyone else who knew.
Silverlight took a deep, calming breath, though it shook slightly. If she did have powers, she just wouldn't use them. But dark thoughts kept creeping up on her. What if they got out of control? What if she killed someone? The gray tabby shook her head. She needed time alone to think, but that wasn't now, so she forced her thoughts to the back of her head.

[&& okay wait. i am.. confused. somehow. are silver and kitsu supposed to find their powers too? or just icey?]
Kitsune scoffed at Icefire's comment about slaying her in her sleep. She retorted briskly to this foolishness, "Ah, yes, because you couldn't do it fairly, you sneaky weasel!" She bristled, the fur along her spine fluffing out and making her resemble a ball of fire with sparkling green eyes. "I'd take you on any day, freakshow talents or not, and whether or not I'd win..." she shrugged as though she didn't care. "Everyone'll know you cheated."
She flicked her tail, then turned to Silverlight, not replying to her sister's comment but smiling coyly and turning back to her brother. This made her wonder if Silverlight, too, could do that weird... that fish-killing thing. She didn't really want to find out, or so she thought - some part of her subconcious was thrilled by the fact that she and Silverlight may be able to imitate Icefire's moves.

[[Well, consid'ring I RP'd Icefire as already knowing about his powers, Kitsune and Silverlight should find their powers here, too.]]
Icefire bristled even further at Kitsune's jibe. Sneaky weasel, was he? Well, wait until she got a taste of his power! "I'll flay you, Kitsune. You hear me? You'll be in such pain when I'm done, you'll wish you were dead!" He snarled, charging at the orange she-cat furiously.
[[Oh dear.]]

Kitsune smirked a little at his expression. Never was very thick-skinned, was he?
However, she shrank back a little as his next words and his rising anger.
Wish I was dead, eh? She thought, bracing herself for the attack. She had seen the fish... she wasn't about to take the abuse from her stupid brother. She was in such a state of complete, ice-coated fear, her tail fluffed out and her eyes widened. In this instant of crazed paranoia, she felt an intense heat emerge from her mind. She could see only glinting ruby-glossed flames... orange tongues of heat and anger that clawed the sky and hungrily licked up all in its path...
A fiery sensation tingled through her young body, and her pelt radiated powerful sunshower of sparks that shrouded from her fluffed-up ginger pelt and towards the direction of her murderous attacker.

Silverlight, who had been lost in her own thoughts, looked up when she heard the word dead, then saw her brother flying towards Kitsune. The silver tabby was on her paws in an instant, her fur bristling. Killing a fish was one thing, but she wouldn't let Icefire hurt their sister. After a moment's pause, Silverlight launched herself between her two siblings, tail lashing. She hoped Icefire would stop when he saw her, but got the feeling we would just bowl her over. All at once she realized how foolish jumping in front of him had been. He was bigger, stronger, faster...
Silverlight braced herself for her brother's attack, her eyes shut tight. But instead of feeling claws, a wave of warm air washed over her from behind. It made her fur prickle in an nondescript way. It wasn't a particularly bad feeling, nor a good one, just strange. The silver she-cat opened her eyes and saw sparks flitting across her fur, rolling off like water would. A gasp of surprise escaped her and she stumbled backwards.

Icefire snarled hotly as the sparks flew from Kitsune. At first, he braced himself against the inevitable pain, but looked relieved as Silverlight--the stupid waste of breath--placed her body between the two. His relief, however, died away to shock when the fire rolled off of her silvery pelt. Growling, he rolled out of the way of his sisters, then shot a glare at Kitsune.
"You wanna play magic, sis?" He snarled viciously. "You've got it." Concentrating, he shot a bolt of pain at the gingery she-kit, violet eyes glowing with undisguised dislike of Kitsune. The pain he sent was of the worst kind: felt long enough, it would disable, or, very likely kill, the victim.
It was also, conveniently, Icefire's favorite sort of wound to inflict: the kind that left no marks.

The surprise had no limit, did it?
Apparently, Kitsune had sent small pieces of fire from her coat subconciously with her anger and wild-animal instincts. She had not really wanted to burn her brother, even a little bit, but the defense system had worked -- so far. He backed off a little, still looking hateful.
Her relief was short-lived.
Silverlight, her beloved, gentle sister, leapt in front of her, defensively brave, and Kitsune felt a dagger tear through her heart as the sparks swallowed her alive... temporarily. In fact, it was as though her sister was made of rain; the flames rolled off of her rippling silver pelt, and, indeed, did she appear to be made of lakewater.
So they were all unharmed. Kitsune wanted to be relieved, but Icefire's immediate rage sent her panicking. In a flash, he had leapt towards her, without lifting a paw to strike her, and a wave of such powerful, hideous pain clashed with her own turmoiled brain that she actually flew backwards from the impact. It was as if Icefire had tackled her himself with a full-body force, but he still stood where he'd been.
Oh god.. he's going to kill me. Just like the fish. He's going to kill me like he killed the fish.

Silverlight gaped at her sister, not sure if she was more surprised that her sister had conjured up flames, or that they hadn't hurt her. It seemed they all had powers. A shiver of thrill rippled down her pelt. This could get exciting. The tabby looked at her brother, briefly confused about what he meant before understanding. He was going to do the fish thing on Kitsune. Silverlight saw her sister get blown backwards, as though she had been hit by something.
Her first reaction was shock and disgust. How could Icefire do that to his sister? Then rage pounded through her and her claws slid out. She heard her blood pounding through her ears, and wouldn't have been surprised if just then she discovered she had some other power. She launched herself at Icefire, screeching with fury and slashing madly.
